The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Coca Cola (KO) 52.38 (-4.83%), Dow (DOW) 49.86 (-2.45%) and Caterpillar (CAT) 260.80 (-1.60%).

The VIX closed Thursday at 18.49 (-0.48%) and the 10 YR at 4.722 (+0.19%). The VIX is currently at 19.33 (+4.54%). The 10YR is at 4.825 (+2.38%).

The U.S. economy added 336,000 jobs in September, the Labor Department said. Economists had expected 170,000 jobs. To be sure, wages rose less than expected last month. Average hourly earnings increased 0.2% for the month and 4.2% from a year ago, compared to respective estimates for 0.3% and 4.3%.

The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield jumped more than 12 basis points on the back of the data to trade near a 16-year high set earlier this week.

Shares of Disney are set to rally as the company completes a planned Hulu buyout, according to Bernstein. The firm initiated coverage of the stock at a buy rating on Thursday. Shares added 0.6% in premarket trading.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.3 cents at $3.746 per gallon.
