The Dow stock losers Friday were led by American Express (AXP) 146.30 (-2.61%), Nike (NKE) 105.95 (-2.36%) and McDonald’s (MCD) 266.12 (-2.06%).

The 10 YR yield closed Friday at 3.488 (+1.01%) and the VIX at 22.62 (-0.92%). The 10 YR is currently at 3.561 and VIX is at 22.80 (+0.80%).

Stock futures are choppy Monday after the major averages posted their second straight week of losses for the first time since September as investors weighed recession fears.

Last week the Federal Reserve delivered a 50 basis point short-term interest rate hike and signaled higher-for-longer rates. Recession fears mounted as the central bank upped its forecast for future hikes above previous expectations, saying that it now expects to hike rates to 5.1%.

U.S. futures are mixed, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down seven-tenths of a cent at $3.142 per gallon.
