The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Intel (INTC) 25.87 (-2.08%), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) 166.01 (-0.35%) and Nike (NKE) 89.68 (-0.32%).

The 10 YR yield closed Tuesday at 4.004% and the VIX at 30.50 (-2.77%). The 10 YR is currently at 3.935 and VIX is at 31.72 (-0.94%).

Markets are edging lower so far this morning.

Procter & Gamble (PG), the consumer goods giant known for producing Tide detergent and Crest toothpaste, said it expects foreign exchange to weigh on its results during the fiscal year. The U.S. dollar has strengthened considerably against other nations’ currency in recent months as the Federal Reserve has jacked up interest rates to fight surging inflation. The company’s earnings and revenue, by the way, topped expectations in the most recent quarter, as price increases offset a decline in sales volumes.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 1.6 cents at $3.854 per gallon.
