The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +224 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +131.14 (+0.50%) at 26,156.10.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -8.35%.

There were 14 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Nike (NKE) +2.42%, Apple (AAPL) +2.13% and UnitedHealth (UNH) +1.68%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by IBM (IBM) -1.37%, Verizon (VZ) -1.29% and Pfizer (PFE) -1.03%.

Gold prices rose to their highest levels in nearly eight years, above $1,796 per ounce, as the resurgence of cases pushed investors into investments perceived as safer.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.6 cents at $2.157 per gallon.
