The Dow Market Happenings For Tuesday, March 5, 2019

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +11 points.

Monday the Dow was down -206.67 (-0.79%) at 25,819.65.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +10.68%.

There were 11 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by DowDuPont (DWDP) +1.71%, Intel (INTC) +1.20% and Caterpillar (CAT) +0.64%.

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) -4.12%, Walgreens (WBA) -2.81% and McDonald’s (MCD) -2.41%.

Yesterday the Dow was dragged down by UnitedHealth (UNH) and Walgreens (WBA) as “Medicare For All” fears continue to hit insurers and some related stocks.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenths of a cent at $2.430 per gallon.
