Thursday the Dow was up +70.11 (+0.29%) at 24,597.38.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -0.78%.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Procter & Gamble (PG) +2.62%, McDonald’s (MCD) +1.61% and Merck (MRK) +1.28%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Nike (NKE) -1.87%, DowDuPont (DWDP) -1.05% and AMerican Express (AXP) -0.73%.

Procter & Gamble (PG +2.62%) was upgraded to ‘Overweight’ from ‘Equal-Weight’ at Morgan Stanley with a price target of $106.

Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA -0.15%) was downgraded to ‘Sell’ from ‘Neutral’ at Goldman Sachs with a price target of $68.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down nine-tenths of a cent at $2.390 per gallon.
