Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +111 points.

Friday, the Dow was up +200.36 (+1.23%) at 16,472.37.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -7.58

Dow stock winners Friday were led by Chevron (CVX) +4.10% and Pfizer (PFE) +3.89%.

Dow stock losers Friday were led by Verizon (VZ) -0.28% and JPMorgan (JPM) -0.28%.

General Electric (GE +1.11%) jumped over 4% in pre-market trading after Trian Fund Management LP disclosed a $2.5 billion stake in the company, making it one of the 10 largest shareholders.

S&P cut the ratings outlook on Exxon Mobile (XOM +2.46%) and Chevron (CVX +4.10%) to ‘Negative’ from ‘Stable.’

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent at $2.290 per gallon. Gas is at $2.28 per gallon at the local Gig Harbor Costco.
