Market Happenings For Monday, November 18, 2013

Dow stocks at new 52 week highs include Boeing (BA), Disney (DIS), General Electric (GE), Pfizer (PFE), Procter & Gamble (PG) and Nike (NKE). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Friday the Dow closed up +85.48 (+0.54%) at 15,913.45.

Premarket, the Dow was indicated to open +45 points.

UPDATE: The Dow crosses 16,000 at the open.

Last week the Dow was up +1.3%, Nasdaq +1.7%, S&P 500 +1.6% and Russell 2000 +1.5%.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +21.8%, Nasdaq +32.0%, S&P 500 +26.1% and Russell 2000 +31.4%

Boeing (BA) shares are up +3% in premarket trading after it secured new plane orders from Etihad Airways PJSC for its new 777X wide-body planes as well as for more 787 Dreamliners on the first day of the DUbai Air Show.

Microsoft (MSFT) was downgraded to ‘Underperform’ from ‘Neutral’ at BofA/Merrill.

European stocks are higher and Asian stocks ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up nine-tenths of a cent over the weekend to $3.208 per gallon.

Tyson Foods Inc. (TSN) is expected to report fourth quarter EPS of $0.69 on revenue of $8.89 billion, compared to last year’s EPS of $0.55 on revenue of $8.37 billion.

UGI Corporation (UGI) is expected to report a fourth quarter loss of $0.06 per share on revenue of $1.21 billion, compared to last year’s loss of $0.09 per share on revenue of $1.13 billion.
