Friday the Dow closed up +89.08 (+0.25%) at 35,819.56.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +17.03%.

The Dow stock winners Friday were led by Microsoft (MSFT) 331.62 (+2.24%), Intel (INTC) 49.00 (+1.91%) and Merck (MRK) 88.05 (+1.73%).

The Dow stock losers Friday were led by Apple (AAPL) 149.80 (-1.82%), Dow (DOW) 55.97 (-1.06%) and 3M (MMM) 178.68 (-0.66%).

For the month of October, the Dow was up 5.8%.

Monday, the 10-year Treasury yield was around 1.58%.

The House is expected to vote, as early as Tuesday, on the Senate-passed infrastructure bill and the Democrats’ go-it-alone social and climate spending package.

Friday brings the government’s October employment report.

American Airlines (AAL) scrapped almost 300 flights, or about 10%, of its Monday schedule on top of more than 1,700 cancellations since Friday. The carrier blamed staffing problems and high winds at its busiest hub, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, last week.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent at $3.402 per gallon.
