The previous week’s level was revised up by 1,000 from 219,000 to 220,000. The 4-week moving average was 213,750, an increase of 1,000 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised up by 250 from 212,500 to 212,750. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2 percent for the week ending September 28, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous week’s unrevised rate. The advance number for seasonally adjusted
insured unemployment during the week ending September 28 was 1,684,000, an increase of 29,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level was revised up 4,000 from 1,651,000 to 1,655,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,665,000, an increase of 2,500 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised up by 1,000 from 1,661,500 to 1,662,500.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent at $2.645 per gallon.
