DJIA Market Happenings For Thursday, January 25, 2018

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Cisco (CSCO), DowDupont (DWDP), Goldman Sachs (GS), Home Depot (HD), JPMorgan (JPM), Coca Cola (KO), Microsoft (MSFT), Nike (NKE), Travelers (TRV), UnitedHealth (UNH), United Technologies (UTX), Wal-Mart (WMT) and Exxon Mobil (XOM). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +120 points.

Wednesday the Dow was up +41.31 (+0.16%) at 26,252.12.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +6.20%.

There were 15 Dow stocks up Wednesday.

The Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) +2.15% and Verizon (VZ) +1.86%.

The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by General Electric (GE) -2.66% and Apple (AAPL) -1.59%.

Unemployment weekly claims in the week ending January 20, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 233,000, an increase of 17,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level was revised down by 4,000 from 220,000 to 216,000. The 4-week moving average was 240,000, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised down by 1,000 from 244,500 to 243,500.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.1 cents at $2.564 per gallon.
