DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, October 13, 2017

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Boeing (BA), Caterpillar (CAT), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), McDonald’s (MCD), 3M (MMM), Microsoft (MSFT), Pfizer (PFE), Visa (V) and Wal-Mart (WMT). Dow stock 52 week lows include General Electric (GE).

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +25 points.

Thursday the Dow was down -31.88 (-0.14%) at 22,841.01.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +15.58%.

There were 12 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +1.08% and Microsoft (MSFT) +0.92%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Disney (DIS) -1.64% and UnitedHealth (UNH) -1.20%.

Millions of Social Security recipients and other retirees will get a 2 percent increase in benefits next year. It’s the largest increase since 2012 but comes to only $25 a month for the average beneficiary.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenths of a cent at $2.481 per gallon.
