JPMorgan Chase (JPM +3.53%) was upgraded to ‘Buy’ from ‘Neutral’ at Guggenheim with a price target of $96.
Caterpillar (CAT) raised its guidance for full-year earnings to $3.75 per share from $2.90 per share. The Street expected $3.26 per share.
The company also revised its full-year revenue outlook from $38 billion to $41 billion versus the Street’s expectation of $38.27 billion. Earnings per share was $1.28 versus 62 cents a year ago. Revenue came in at $9.822 billion versus $9.271 billion a year ago.
European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended higher.
The national average price of gasoline is down six-tenths of a cent at $2.413 per gallon.
