The Dow Market Happenings For Wednesday, April 5, 2017

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Apple (AAPL). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +61 points.

Tuesday the Dow was up +39.03 (+0.19%) at 20,689.24.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +4.69%.

There were 20 Dow stocks up Tuesday.

The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Caterpillar (CAT) +2.02% and Boeing (BA) +1.16%.

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Nike (NKE) -0.94% and Visa (V) -0.65%.

The ADP / Moody’s Analytics report says companies added 263,000 jobs for the month. That was well above the 185,000 expected from economists surveyed and also better than the 245,000 reported for February. The February number was revised significantly lower, however, from the originally reported 298,000.

European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.6 cents at $2.349 per gallon.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 4/13/2017 before the market open.

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) reports earnings on 4/18/2017 before the market open.

Goldman Sachs (GS) reports earnings on 4/18/2017 before the market open.

UnitedHealth (UNH) reports earnings on 4/18/2017 before the market open.

IBM (IBM) reports earnings on 4/18/2017 after the market close.
