The Dow Market Happenings For Friday, December 9, 2016

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include American Express (AXP), Boeing (BA), Caterpillar (CAT), Chevron (CVX), Dupont (DD), Goldman Sachs (GS), IBM (IBM), JPMorgan (JPM) and Microsoft (MSFT).There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open up +26 points.

Thursday the Dow was up +65.19 (+0.33%) at 19,614.81.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +12.57%.

There were 15 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) +2.50% and Disney (DIS) +2.14%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by United Technologies (UTX) -1.14% and Caterpillar (CAT) -1.09%.

Jobless claims declined by 10,000 to 258,000 in the week ended Dec. 3. The median forecast called for 255,000. Continuing claims decreased to a three-week low. No states or U.S. territories estimated jobless claims last week.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent at $2.198 per gallon.
