DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, January 30, 2015

Dow stocks at 52 week highs include Boeing (BA) and Home Depot (HD). Dow stock 52 week lows include Caterpillar (CAT), International Business Machines (IBM) and Exxon Mobil (XOM).

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -183 points.

Thursday, the Dow closed up +225.48 (+1.31%) at 17,416.85

Year-to-date the Dow is down -3.54%.

Dow stock winners Thursday included Boeing (BA) +5.83% and McDonald’s (MCD) +5.06%.

Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Chevron (CVX) -0.68% and Exxon Mobil (XOM) -0.42%.

Visa (V) climbed over 3% in after-hours trading after it reported Q1 EPS of $2.53, better than consensus of $2.49, and then announced a four-for-one stock split. Revenue increased to $3.38 billion, from $3.16 billion last year.

Analysts expected earnings of $2.49 a share on revenue of $3.34 billion.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mixed.

The national average price of gasoline is up seven-tenths of a cent at $2.051 per gallon.
