The Market

Premarket, the Dow was indicated to open up +1 points.

Tuesday, the Dow closed up +192.98 (+1.22%) at 15,994.77.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -3.51%

In testimony before the House, Janet Yellen said the Fed will continue reducing its stimulus as the economy gradually improves, and said recent emerging market turmoil posed no real risk to the outlook.

The House has voted to raise the limit on U.S. borrowing for a year which could give markets another push. The Senate is expected to vote on the measure Wednesday.

China reported a 10% surge in exports for January, which provided a boost to markets despite warnings from economists that the data may have been distorted by over-invoicing and the Lunar New Year holiday.

Procter & Gamble (PG) said it expects an 8 cent-10 cent a share charge due to the devaluation of Venezuela’s currency.

The national average price of gasoline is up a penny to $3.317 per gallon.
