Procter & Gamble (PG) reported Q2 EPS of $1.21, higher than consensus of $1.20.
Microsoft (MSFT) climbed 4% in after-hours trading after it reported Q2 EPS of 78 cents, well ahead of consensus of 68 cents.
European stocks are lower and Asian stocks ended mostly lower.
The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent to $3.288 per gallon.
