Earnings Reports
DuPont (DD) reported net income of $3.35 billion or $3.58 per share for the quarter ended March 31. That’s up from $1.49 billion, or $1.58 per share, a year ago. Revenue increased 2 percent to $10.4 billion, matching expectations. The company had 4 percent volume growth in North America and Latin America. Sales were flat in the Asia-Pacific region and down slightly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Overall, global volume was up 2 percent.
The Travelers Companies, Inc. (TRV) reported that earnings increased 15.92% to $2.33 in the quarter versus EPS of $2.01 in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue decreased 12.44% to $5.6 billion from the year-earlier quarter. Expectations were for $2.02 EPS on revenue of $5.61 billion.
United Technologies Corp. (UTX) reported earnings decreased 2.29% to $1.28 in the quarter versus EPS of $1.31 in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue was up 15.9% to $14.4 billion from the year-earlier quarter. Expectations were for earnings of $1.30 on revenue of $14.94 billion.
