The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Nike (NKE) 43.73 (-4.79%), Salesforce (CRM) 200.84 (-4.36%) and Microsoft (MSFT) 441.31 (-5.17%).

The VIX closed Wednesday at 16.06 (+1.84%) and the 10 YR at 4.506 (-0.02%). The VIX is currently at 16.38 (+1.99%). The 10YR is at 4.480 (-0.60%).

Initial jobless claims hit their highest level since early February last week, the Labor Department reported Thursday. First-time filings totaled 225,000 for the week ending May 30, up 13,000 from the prior period and higher than the Dow Jones consensus estimate for 215,000. The week marked the highest level for claims since Feb. 7. In other economic news, productivity rose 0.3% in the first quarter, below the 0.5% forecast, while unit labor costs increased 1.8%, below the 2.4% estimate, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

SpaceX set its IPO prices at $135 per share, valuing the company at more than $1.75 trillion.

U.S. futures are mixed, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.0 cents at $4.241 per gallon.
