The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Sherwin Williams (SHW) 324.27 (-33.52%), Nvidia (NVDA) 213.17 (-1.59%) and Cisco (CSCO) 86.86 (-1.59%).

The VIX closed Tuesday at 17.83 (-1.05%) and the 10 YR at 4.349 (+0.37%). The VIX is currently at 18.32 (+2.75%). The 10YR is at 4.380 (+0.60%).

Investors will be watching for any commentary from the Federal Reserve on inflation amid the conflict in the Middle East, as Wednesday will mark the conclusion of the April Fed policy meeting, which will likely be Powell’s last at the helm before his term as chair ends in May. Kevin Warsh, Trump’s nominated successor, appears on track to take over for Powell at the central bank. The market does not expect the Fed to make any adjustments to the current federal funds rate.

Visa (V) shares rise almost 5%. Second-quarter adjusted earnings of $3.31 per share and revenue of $11.23 billion surpassed analysts’ expectations.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 5.3 cents at $4.229 per gallon.
