The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Boeing (BA) 201.18 (-2.34%), McDonald’s (MCD) 309.58 (-1.95%) and 3M (MMM) 142.71 (-1.63%).

The VIX closed Thursday at 24.06 (-4.11%) and the 10 YR at 4.262 (+0.09%). The VIX is currently at 24.78 (+2.99%). The 10YR is at 4.321 (+0.86%).

Stocks fell on Thursday but closed well off their lows after Netanyahu said Israel was assisting the U.S. “in intel and other means” to open the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Iran had lost the ability to enrich uranium and produce ballistic missiles, noting the conflict may end faster than many fear. West Texas Intermediate futures fell sharply post-settle following those comments, giving stocks a boost off their lows of the day. Still, WTI remains more than 48% higher this month.

The Dow is nearing correction territory. The Dow is 8.3% below its record close set Feb. 10.

Gold rose Friday, rebounding off a two-month low as a stronger U.S. dollar and a more hawkish Federal Reserve weighed on the precious metal. Spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,670.89 per ounce, rebounding from a near two-month low hit in the previous session. U.S. gold futures for April delivery rose 1.4% to $4,668.90.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 2.8 cents at $3.912 per gallon.
