The Dow stock losers Friday were Amazon (AMZN) 210.32 (-5.55%) and Verizon (VZ) 46.31 (-1.68%).

The VIX closed Friday at 17.76 (-18.42%) and the 10 YR at 4.217 (-0.05%). The VIX is currently at 18.53 (+4.34%). The 10YR is at 4.254 (+0.85%).

Last Friday the Dow crossed 50,000 for the first time in history and made an all-time closing high of 50,115.67.

Bitcoin gained back +10.64% last Friday to close at $70,580 after sinking below $61,000 Thursday night.

In respect to economic data this week, Monday, several Federal Reserve officials including Governors Christopher Waller and Stephen Miran, will speak. On Wednesday, investors will be watching for the delayed January jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The release was initially scheduled for last Friday but was postponed due to the partial government shutdown. It also comes after ADP reported last week that private payrolls increased by a mere 22,000 in January, well below expectations. Economists anticipate the closely watched jobs report will show a gain of 55,000 in January. Friday brings us the January consumer price index reading, which was also delayed by the shutdown with the consensus looking for a 2.5% annual rate.

Last week the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 2.5%.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $2.902 per gallon.
