Stocks posted sharp losses in Tuesday’s session as Trump escalated his Greenland tariff threats ahead of his scheduled appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

Gold prices climbed to a fresh record above $4,800 on Wednesday, extending a sharp rally as investors sought safety amid tariff threats from the White House and renewed concerns about a global trade war.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.
