The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Procter & Gamble (PG) 145.52 (-1.55%), Chevron (CVX) 147.69 (-1.22%) and Verizon (VZ) 40.41 (-1.15%).

The VIX closed Thursday at 16.77 (-4.82%) and the 10 YR at 4.121 (-0.82%). The VIX is currently at 16.17 (-4.15%). The 10YR is at 4.144 (+0.63%).

Nvidia (NVDA) rose about 1% in the premarket after Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter, reported that the Trump administration is reviewing the prospect of the company selling its advanced AI chips to China. Earlier this month, President Donald Trump said that he will allow Nvidia to ship its H200 AI chips to “approved customers” in the country.

Nike (NKE) shares slid more than 11% as the sports apparel giant saw revenue in its Greater China market decline during the fiscal second quarter. The company is also feeling the pain of tariff increases, noting a hit to its gross margins due to the levies.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down nine-tenths of a cent at $2.896 per gallon.

JPMorgan (JPM) reports earnings on 1/13/2026 after the market close.
