The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Procter & Gamble (PG) 145.50 (-1.01%), UnitedHealth (UNH) 321.58 (-0.81%) and Nike (NKE) 60.80 (-0.47%).

The VIX closed Monday at 17.63 (-7.60%) and the 10 YR at 4.121 (+0.41%). The VIX is currently at 17.78 (+1.02%). The 10YR is at 4.092 (-0.70%).

Nvidia (NVDA) shed nearly 2% after SoftBank disclosed it sold its entire stake in the chipmaker for $5.83 billion.

Recent indicators are showing that private employers actually cut payrolls in October, ADP reported Tuesday. The payrolls processing firm reported that companies shed an average 11,250 jobs over the past four weeks, according to preliminary numbers. The totals suggests “that the labor market struggled to produce jobs consistently during the second half of the month,” said the report from Nela Richardson, the firm’s chief economist. ADP last week reported October gains of 42,000, though the report only tracked numbers through the middle of the month. Economists had been expecting an official nonfarm payrolls count from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to show a drop of 60,000 for the month. That report, however, did not come out due to the government shutdown.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up one-tenth of a cent at $3.072 per gallon.
