The VIX closed Tuesday at 15.57 (+3.87%) and the 10 YR at 4.307 (+0.09%). The VIX is currently at 15.63 (+0.39%). The 10YR is at 4.298 (-0.12%).

The White House expanded its 50% tariffs on steel and aluminum to include additional product categories. The Commerce Department on Tuesday said an additional 407 types of goods now fall under the levies, including everything from car parts, to specialty chemicals, to fire extinguishers.

Today we get the July meeting minutes from the Fed at 2 p.m. ET. At the time, policymakers once more held steady on interest rates, but Fed Governors Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman dissented, marking the first time two voting Fed officials have done so since 1993.

Friday, Fed Chair Jerome Powell speaks at the Jackson Hole meeting where all are hoping he gives a nod towards monetary easing.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up three-tenths of a cent at $3.133 per gallon.
