The Dow stock losers Friday were led by Amazon (AMZN) 214.75 (-8.27%), UnitedHealth (UNH) 237.77 (-4.72%) and 3M (MMM) 144.41 (-3.22%).

The VIX closed Friday at 20.38 (+21.89%) and the 10 YR at 4.216 (-3.26%). The VIX is currently at 18.98 (-6.87%). The 10YR is at 4.210 (-0.28%).

Friday’s sell-off was driven by a worse-than-expected July jobs report and jitters about Trump’s new modified tariff rates. Trump signed an executive order late last week that updated his “reciprocal” tariffs on dozens of U.S. trading partners, ranging from Syria to Taiwan, with updated duties ranging from 10% to 41%.

Stocks are looking to open to the upside.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up two-tenths of a cent at $3.152 per gallon.
