The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Chevron (CVX) 137.37 (-1.56%), Travelers (TRV) 271.86 (-1.52%) and Verizon (VZ) 43.24 (-1.35%).

The VIX closed Wednesday at 17.61 (-0.45%) and the 10 YR at 4.373 (+0.02%). The VIX is currently at 17.72 (+0.62%). The 10YR is at 4.356 (-0.37%).

Jobless claims last week came in at 247,000, an increase of 8,000 from the week before and more than the estimate of 236,000.

Tomorrow we get May’s nonfarm payrolls reading. Economists are expecting the report to show a gain of 125,000 for the month, which would be 52,000 less than the previous month.

U.S. futures are mostly higher, European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down two-tenths of a cent at $3.146 per gallon.
