The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by 3M (MMM) 136.33 (+8.12%), Travelers (TRV) 261.31 (+4.70%), American Express (AXP) 252.42 (+4.09%), Goldman Sachs (GS) 519.99 (+3.72%) and Amazon (AMZN) 173.18 (+3.50%).

The Dow stock losers Monday were not to be found. Yep, none.

The VIX closed Tuesday at 30.57 (-9.61%) and the 10 YR at 4.356 (-0.59%). The VIX is currently at 28.10 (-8.08%). The 10YR is at 4.287 (-2.17%).

Boeing (BA) rose more than 4% in premarket trading after the aerospace company reported a narrower loss for its latest quarter. Boeing said it had a net loss of $31 million in the first quarter, improving from a $355 million loss in the same period last year. The results topped Wall Street expectations. The loss of 49 cents per share was better than the estimated $1.18 loss, according to FactSet. Revenue of $19.50 billion also topped projections of $19.38 billion. CEO Kelly Ortberg also said that the company will ask the Federal Aviation Administration to approve increased production of 737 Max jets.

In the latest development on potential de-escalation of the global trade war, China signaled that it was open to trade talks with the U.S. However, the nation also underscored that it would not negotiate if the U.S. continued to make threats.

Trump again manipulates the markets saying that he has “no intention” of firing Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $3.171 per gallon.
