The Dow stock winners Wednesday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) 563.10 (+2.67%), Amazon (AMZN) 196.01 (+2.00%) and American Express (AXP) 275.25 (+1.76%).

The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by Verizon (VZ) 44.74 (-1.41%), Chevron (CVX) 166.47 (-1.21%) and Coca Cola (KO) 71.33 (-0.75%).

The VIX closed Wednesday at 21.51 (-1.19%) and the 10 YR at 4.143 (-0.31%). The VIX is currently at 27.30 (+26.92%). The 10YR is at 4.018 (-4.20%).

With Trump’s tariffs, shares of multinational companies tumbled in premarket trading. Nike (NKE) and Apple (AAPL) dropped -11% and -7%, respectively.

Initial U.S. jobless claims for the week ended March 29 fell and came in at 219,000, below a forecast of 228,000. The print is also below the 224,000 from the previous week.

Tomorrow we get the U.S. jobs report.

Microsoft (MSFT) has parted with more data center buildout plans, this time in the UK, Australia, Illinois, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Microsoft did not go into detail on the specific reasoning behind abandoning the projects, the report said. Data centers are key components of powering artificial intelligence applications and programs and have seen billions of dollars in investments in recent years.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 2.2 cents at $3.260 per gallon.
