The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Boeing (BA) 159.82 (+3.11%), Apple (AAPL) 236.448 (+0.63%) and UnitedHealth (UNH) 571.47 (+0.33%).

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by American Express (AXP) 270.74 (-2.19%), Merck (MRK) 106.34 (-2.17%) and Travelers (TRV) 259.70 (-2.17%).

The VIX closed Monday at 18.37 (+1.59%) and the 10 YR at 4.185 (+0.14%). The VIX is currently at 19.43 (+5.77%). The 10YR is at 4.176 (-0.07%).

3M (MMM) shares rallied 5% after 3M posted third-quarter earnings of $1.98 per share of revenue of $6.07 billion. Analysts had expected earnings per share of $1.90 on $6.06 billion in revenue.

Nike (NKE) shares added less than 1% after the sneaker giant and athletics apparel company renewed its uniform partnership with the NBA and WNBA.

Disney (DIS) announced Monday that James Gorman will replace Mark Parker as the company’s next chairman, starting in January. The media giant also plans to name a successor for CEO Bob Iger in early 2026. Disney initially targeted 2025 to announce a successor, but pushing the date back to early 2026 will give the board more time to conduct due diligence on both internal and external candidates, said people familiar with the matter. Gorman joined Disney’s board less than a year ago and was named the head of the succession planning committee in August.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 1.2 cents at $3.163 per gallon.
