The VIX closed Thursday at 19.90 (-6.66%) and the 10 YR at 3.723 (-0.08%). The VIX is currently at 18.92 (-11.26%). The 10YR is at 3.735 (+0.24%).

August’s jobs report showed payrolls grow by 142,000 last month, in another sign of a slowing labor market. Economists had expected a gain of 161,000. However, the unemployment rate edged down to 4.2%, in line with expectations.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 1.2 cents at $3.296 per gallon.
