The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Intel (INTC) 20.10 (-8.80%), Boeing (BA) 161.02 (-7.32%) and Goldman Sachs (GS) 487.46 (-4.47%).

The VIX closed Tuesday at 20.72 (+33.25%) and the 10 YR at 3.826 (-1.90%). The VIX is currently at 22.62 (+9.17%). The 10YR is at 3.831 (-0.10%).

At 10 am ET today we get the latest releases on job openings and labor turnover (JOLTS) survey, and factory orders data.

The U.S. trade imbalance widened to its highest level in more than two years, though it was a touch less than what economists had been expecting. For July, the deficit expanded to $78.8 billion, up nearly $6 billion from June though less than the $79.1 billion consensus estimate, the Census Bureau reported Wednesday. The move came as the goods deficit expanded to $103.1 billion while the services surplus decreased to $24.3 billion. One reason for the growth in the shortfall was that the deficit with China rose to $27.2 billion, an increase of $4.9 billion, or 22%.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down eight-tenths of a cent at $3.317 per gallon.
