The VIX closed Thursday at 16.35 (+14.10%) and the 10 YR at 4.298 (-0.12%). The VIX is currently at 16.46 (+0.67%). The 10YR is at 4.387 (+1.95%).

The March nonfarm payrolls came in stronger than expected on Friday morning, another sign of a resilient U.S. labor market. The U.S. economy added 303,000 jobs last month, topping the 200,000 expected by economists surveyed by Dow Jones. The unemployment rate was 3.8%. Average hourly earnings rose 0.3% in March and are up 4.1% over the past year. The average workweek ticked up to 34.4 hours.

U.S. futures are mostly higher, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.5 cents at $3.582 per gallon.
