The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Visa (V) 241.50 (-2.55%), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) 163.74 (-0.15%) and Intel (INTC) 38.67 (-0.10%).

The VIX closed Thursday at 12.82 (-4.90%) and the 10 YR at 4.281 (+0.87%). The VIX is currently at 12.97 (+1.17%). The 10YR is at 4.310 (+0.58%).

Tthe headline producer price index rose 0.7% in August, coming in above economists’ expectations for 0.4%. However, the core PPI increased by 0.2%, in line with estimates.

The Dow is on pace for a nearly 1% gain and its second positive week in three.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $3.866 per gallon.
