The VIX closed Tuesday at 14.45 (-4.18%) and the 10 YR at 4.119 (-2.14%). The VIX is currently at 14.34 (-0.76%). The 10YR is at 4.101 (-0.49%).

ADP’s National Employment Report showed that employers added 177,000 workers in August, below the 200,000 estimate and down from 324,000 new hires in July. The ADP report is a precursor to Friday’s jobs report from the Labor Department.

The Labor Department’s second estimate of second-quarter GDP was revised down to 2.1% vs. 2.4% growth in the first estimate.

On Tuesday, the major U.S. stock benchmarks rallied following the release of disappointing consumer confidence figures and a bigger-than-forecast drop in U.S. job openings for July.

U.S. futures are mostly higher, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up four-tenths of a cent at $3.827 per gallon.
