The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Apple (AAPL) 165.56 (+3.41%), Disney (DIS) 100.84 (+2.96%), Nike (NKE) 126.43 (+2.24%) and Microsoft (MSFT) 289.84 +2.24%).

The Dow stock losers Thursday were IBM (IBM) 127.90 (-0.50%) and Travelers (TRV) 173.20 (-0.37%).

The VIX closed Thursday at 17.80(-6.76%). The VIX is currently at 17.97 (+0.96%). The 10YR is at 3.500.

JPMorgan (JPM) reported record revenue that beat analyst expectations, with the stock rising more than 5% in the premarket. Earnings per share also beat estimates. JPMorgan reported adjusted earnings of $4.32 per share for the first quarter vs. a $3.41 estimate from analysts. Revenue for the first quarter was a record $39.34 billion vs. a $36.19 billion consensus estimate.

UnitedHealth (UNH) was higher in the premarket after the firm posted better-than-expected results, and slightly raised its guidance. The insurance giant reported adjusted earnings of $6.26 per share on revenue of $91.93 billion for the first quarter. Analysts expected earnings per share of $6.13 on revenue of $89.78 billion. Additionally, the company slightly raised its guidance.

Boeing (BA) is down 6% after the aircraft maker warned of delivery delays for some of its 737 Max planes.

Advanced retail sales data signaled that consumer spending slowed in March as shoppers faced mounting recession fears and turmoil in the banking sector. An advanced reading of retail sales showed a decline by 1% in March, greater than the 0.5% fall expected by economists. The figure marked the weakest month-over-month reading since November. Retail sales excluding autos fell 0.8% versus the 0.4% expected by analysts.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are mostly higher and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up 1.7 cents at $3.662 per gallon.
