The 10 YR yield closed Monday at 3.581 and the VIX at 20.75 (+8.87%). The 10 YR is currently at 3.527 and VIX is at 20.13 (+5.61%).

Looks like theirs nothing to push markets higher now. We are waiting on the CPI report next week, with the FOMC meeting after that.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. on Tuesday will unveil plans to increase its investment in Arizona from $12 billion to $40 billion, as the company plans to open another chip plant in the politically pivotal state. President Joe Biden is set to join TSMC founder Morris Chang in a visit Tuesday to the company’s Phoenix plant, which is expected to start producing chips by 2024. Biden has been pressing for improvements to the chip supply chain as industries from autos to computing have struggled with an overdependence on Chinese suppliers. Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook is also expected to join Biden and Chang.

U.S. futures are mostly lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.3 cents at $3.380 per gallon.
