The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Travelers (TRV) 155.68 (-4.68%), JPMorgan (JPM) 108.00 (-3.49%) and Goldman Sachs (GS) 281.59 (-2.95%).

The 10 YR yield is currently at 2.947% and the VIX is at 25.41 (-3.75%).

Stock futures rise in premarket trading as investors digest the latest round of bank earnings.

UnitedHealth (UNH) reported better-than-expected second quarter earnings Friday, and lifted its full-year profit forecast, as revenues from its healthcare solutions division Optum continued to deliver topline gains. UnitedHealth said adjusted profits for the three months ended in June came in at $5.34 a share, up 13.6% from the same period last year and 14 cents ahead of the consensus forecast.

U.S. futures are higher, European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.8 cents at $4.577 per gallon.
