The Dow stock losers Wednesday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) 501.24 (-2.56%), Boeing (BA) 143.95 (-2.17%) and Walgreens (WBA) 37.24 (-1.92%).

The 10 YR yield is currently at 2.958% and the VIX is at 26.82 (-1.72%).

Futures are down big this morning as yesterday June inflation numbers came in hotter than expected, prompting concerns that the Fed will raise rates in an even more aggressive way this month. The U.S. central bank is expected to boost rates by another 75 basis points this month, but some observers believe the policymakers could go even higher, to a 1%, or 100 basis point, hike.

JPMorgan (JPM) kicked off big bank earnings by reporting a 28% decline in profit during the second quarter as the bank built up reserves to contend with bad loans.

U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is down 2.6 cents at $4.605 per gallon.
