The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) 406.34 (+2.57%), JPMorgan (JPM) 168.28 (+2.39%) and UnitedHealth (UNH) 447.13 (+2.19%).
The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Disney (DIS) 151.03 (-2.03%), Salesforce (CRM) 291.42 (-1.83%) and Intel (INTC) 49.10 (-1.46%).
The 10-year Treasury yield rose to over 1.68% on Wednesday.
The government said initial jobless claims fell to 199,000, the first time below 200,000 during Covid and a number not seen since Nov. 15, 1969, when claims totaled 197,000.
A revised third-quarter gross domestic product advance of 2.1% was slightly above the previous reading, but was slightly below estimates.
October durable goods orders fell 0.5%. Economists had expected a 0.3% increase.
U.S. futures are lower, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.
The national average price of gasoline is down five-tenths of a cent at $3.398 per gallon.
