The Dow stock winners Tuesday were led by Procter & Gamble (PG) 142.85 (+1.42%), Cisco (CCO) 55.81 (+1.22%) and UnitedHealth (UNH) 454.64 (+1.15%).

The Dow stock losers Tuesday were led by Intel (INTC) 48.28 (-2.29%), Walgreens (WBA) 48.31 (-1.85%) and Boeing (BA) 209.81 (-1.44%).

Coca-Cola (KO) and McDonald’s (MCD) shares soar nearly 3% in the premarket each on better-than-expected quarterly earnings and revenues. Coca-Cola also hiked its annual outlook again.

Boeing (BA) was also higher despite weaker quarterly results and a $183 million charge due to issues around 787 Dreamliner flaws.

Microsoft (MSFT) rose 2% in Wednesday’s premarket, the morning after beating estimates on fiscal first-quarter earnings and revenue. Microsoft benefited from significant growth in its cloud computing business.

A key Food and Drug Administration advisory committee has recommended a lower dose of Pfizer’s Covid vaccine for kids ages 5 to 11, a critical step in getting some 28 million more children in the U.S. protected against the virus as the delta variant spreads. Signoff from the full FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which could happened in days, is needed for shots to begin.

U.S. futures are mostly higher, European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $3.394 per gallon.
