The Dow Market Happenings For Tuesday, May 4, 2021

Dow stocks hitting 52 week highs include American Express (AXP), Home Depot (HD), McDonald’s (MCD) and UnitedHealth (UNH). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -153 points.

Monday the Dow was up +238.38 (+0.70%) at 34,113.23.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +11.46%.

There were 23 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Dow (DOW) 64.55 (+3.28%), Amgen (AMGN) 245.38 (+2.40%) and Chevron (CVX) 105.53 (+2.39%).

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Salesforce (CRM) 223.76 (-2.85%), Intel (INTC) 57.26 (-0.47%) and Visa (V) 232.61 (-0.41%).

The FDA is set to amend by early next week its existing emergency use authorization for the Pfizer vaccine to include adolescents aged 12-15. The vaccine has currently been cleared for people 16 and up.

Pfizer said Tuesday, that it plans to file at the end of this month for full U.S. approval of its Covid vaccine, which was developed in an alliance with German drugmaker BioNTech.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up eight-tenths of a cent at $2.913 per gallon.
