DJIA Market Happenings For Friday, March 19, 2021

Dow stocks hitting 52 week highs include Caterpillar (CAT), Dow (DOW), Goldman Sachs (GS), Honeywell (HON), JPMorgan (JPM), 3M (MMM) and Travelers (TRV). There are no Dow stock 52 week lows.

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -26 points.

Thursday the Dow was down -153.07 (-0.46%) at 32,862.30.

Year-to-date the Dow is up +7.37%.

There were 10 Dow stocks up Thursday.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by UnitedHealth (UNH) 362.05 (+2.80%), JPMorgan (JPM) 157.65 (+1.65%) and 3M (MMM) 191.00 (+1.43%).

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Chevron (CVX) 104.12 (-3.62%), Apple (AAPL) 120.53 (-3.39%) and Intel (INTC) 63.725 (-3.12%).

Nike (NKE) posted lower-than-expected sales in its latest quarter, with the sneaker giant citing shipping challenges amid the Covid-19 pandemic for denting sales. Nike (NKE) said it earned $1.45 billion, or 90 cents a share on revenue that rose 3% year over year to $10.36 billion. Analysts were looking for per-share earnings of 76 cents on revenue of $11 billion.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets lower.

The national average price of gasoline is up two-tenths of a cent at $2.886 per gallon.

Earnings Reports

Nike (NKE) reported earnings on 3/18/2021 after the market close of $0.90, beating estimates of $0.752 per share.

Walgreens (WBA) reports earnings on 3/31/2021 before the market open.
