The 10-year Treasury yield jumped to a new 13-month high ahead of the Federal Reserve’s post-meeting release of new economic and interest rate projections and Chairman Jerome Powell’s news conference.
New daily Covid cases in the U.S. are down about 80% from early January and continue to fall as immunity protection increases from vaccinations. More than 15% of the U.S. adult population have been fully vaccinated.
European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended lower.
The national average price of gasoline is up six-tenths of a cent at $2.879 per gallon.
