DJIA Market Happenings For Tuesday, September 29, 2020

The Market

Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -37 points.

Monday the Dow was up +410.10 (+1.51%) at 27,584.06.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -4.78%.

There were 27 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Boeing (BA) 166.08 (+6.44%), Dow (DOW) 47.48 (+3.13%) and Intel (INTC) 51.43 (+2.98%).

The Dow stock losers Monday were led by Merck (MRK) 82.76 (-0.20%), Verizon (VZ) 59.36 (-0.05%) and Walmart (WMT) 137.25 (-0.01%).

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-city home price index, released Tuesday, rose 3.9% in July from a year earlier, up from a 3.5% annual gain in June. The July gain was slightly higher than economists had expected.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and fellow Democrats say they are prepared to move forward with a scaled-back $2.2 trillion package.

European stocks are mostly lower and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down four-tenths of a cent at $2.182 per gallon.

Earnings Reports

Nike (NKE) 116.87 (+3.09%) reported earnings on 9/22/2020 after the market close of $0.95, beating estimates calling for $0.458 per share. Last I checked it was trading at 132.15 in after-hours. [Closed at $114.90, +1.93% on 9/9/2020]
