Global stocks rally on stimulus support as EU leaders agree an historic €1.85 trillion budget and rescue package while U.S. lawmakers resume talks in Washington.

Congressional Democratic lawmakers are set to meet with aides of President Donald Trump later today to hammer out a potential compromise that could bridge the $2 trillion gap between the House stimulus bill, which was passed in mid-May, and Senate Republican’s preference for a $1 trillion plan that is funded by a payroll tax cut.

Chevron (CVX) to buy Noble for $5 billion of stock and $7 billion in assumed debt.

Coca Cola (KO) shares rose in premarket trading Tuesday, after the beverage and snack giant reported a second-quarter profit to topped expectations but revenue that fell a bit shy, amid challenges resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

International Business Machines (IBM) shares gained in after-hours trading Monday, after the tech giant reported another decline in revenue but produced more profit and sales than Wall Street expected amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The national average price of gasoline is down five-tenths of a cent at $2.190 per gallon.
