Premarket today, the Dow was indicated to open down -123 points.

Monday the Dow was up +580.25 (+2.32%) at 25,595.80.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -10.31%.

There were 29 Dow stocks up Monday.

The Dow stock winners Monday were led by Boeing (BA) +14.40%, Raytheon Technologies (RTX) +4.77%, Dow (DOW) +2.96%, Verizon (VZ) +2.88% and Walgreens (WBA) +2.79%.

The Dow stock loser Monday was Cisco (CSCO) -0.35%.

Investors await a congressional hearing today featuring Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that could provide more investor guidance about the government’s economic response to the rising numbers of coronavirus cases.

Visa (V) and Microsoft (MSFT) were higher ahead of the open in today’s stock market, looking to extend Monday’s sharp gains. Apple (AAPL) stock fell 0.5% on news that 5G iPhone shipments in 2020 may be much weaker than expected.

European stocks are lower and Asian markets ended higher.

The national average price of gasoline is down one-tenth of a cent at $2.178 per gallon.

Walgreens (WBA) reports earnings on 7/9/2020 before the market open.
