Thursday the Dow was up +299.66 (+118%) at 25,745.60.

Year-to-date the Dow is down -9.79%.

The Dow stock winners Thursday were led by Goldman Sachs (GS) +4.59%, Dow (DOW) +3.98% and JPMorgan (JPM) +3.49%.

The Dow stock losers Thursday were led by Raytheon Technologies (RTX) -1.07%, Boeing (BA) -1.02% and Intel (INTC) -0.98%.

Nike (NKE) shares slide 3% after the bell on the back of a surprising quarterly loss for the apparel giant. The company reported a loss of 51 cents per share and revenue of $6.31 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter. Nike’s quarterly revenue reflected a drop of 38% on a year-over-year basis.

U.S. infections rise by nearly 40,000 Thursday, the biggest single-day gain on record, as the potential for a second wave of the pandemic continues to escalate.

European stocks are higher and Asian markets ended mostly higher.

The national average price of gasoline is up five-tenths of a cent at $2.176 per gallon.
